Tiger Stadium, a place that gives me many fond memories, soon will be no more.
I felt a little wistful looking at this Detroit Free Press slide show, but the stadium had to go.
It would have been nice to see it redeveloped, but in today's economy, that wasn't going to happen.

Only in Detroit would it be dragged out for so long only to have it slowly die... it was overdue. The great stadium stood as a symbol of the past, but like so many of Detroit's treasures it needed to be looked after and cared for or demolished. For a short time, the positive memories will be clouded by the life-support the stadium lived on for 10 years.
